About The Position
As a Security Officer - Checkpoint Driver in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and visitors, verify credentials, manage gate and badge access, and document activity to support smooth operations. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver clear, professional customer service. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Control access at shipping and distribution location entry points by checking identification, verifying appointments and/or delivery paperwork, issuing visitor credentials, and directing drivers, employees, and visitors to the proper areas.
- Monitor inbound and outbound truck traffic through gates and guard shacks, confirm trailer and seal information when required, and maintain accurate logs of entries, exits, and unusual activity.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including dock areas, parking lots, and exterior doors, while reporting hazards, damaged fencing, and other security-related concerns per site policy.
