As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. By conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence, you will provide outstanding customer service and communication, all while embodying our values of teamwork, integrity, reliability, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the educational environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around campus buildings and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activities and report any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control procedures and verify identification of individuals as required by site-specific policies.
  • Provide support during emergencies and/or drills as directed by site management or Allied Universal supervisors.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with all individuals on the premises.
