Job Description As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol Full-Time in Norfolk, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a dynamic education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established protocols for educational environments.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus, including buildings and surrounding areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity and help to maintain a secure environment.
Monitor access points and observe activities within the location to help to deter violations of policies or procedures.
Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and/or suspicious activities to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with campus staff and local authorities as directed to support a secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.
Provide assistance and information to individuals on the premises, addressing questions or concerns related to security-related matters.
