Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, faculty, staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols around campus buildings and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe and report any unusual occurrences.
Monitor assigned areas for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activity, reporting findings as required by site protocols.
Assist with access control procedures by verifying identification and/or credentials as needed for entry to designated locations.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal team members regarding security-related matters.
Prepare and submit clear and concise incident and/or activity reports as required by site procedures.
Participate in emergency response drills and assist with evacuation or lockdown procedures when necessary.
