As a Security Officer - Unarmed Cultural Gallery Patrol in Silver Spring, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a cultural institution, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. You will be visible throughout the location, engage with visitors, and provide outstanding customer service. Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience is required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.
Pepper spray certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas to observe for suspicious behavior and/or potential security-related concerns.
Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or hazards according to Allied Universal procedures.
Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or visitor badges as required by site-specific policies.
Support cultural institution staff and guests by providing directions and answering questions as needed.
Remain alert to changing conditions within the location and respond to requests for assistance from staff and/or visitors.
