About The Position

As a Security Officer - Biotech Patrol in San Diego, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a healthcare location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and assist staff and visitors with professional customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU driver policy. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter of a healthcare and life sciences location to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access control points, verify identification and/or credentials, process visitors and vendors per site requirements, and help to maintain controlled movement through labs, offices, and restricted areas.
  • Complete required reports such as incident reports, shift activity logs, and access records, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
