As a Screener with Allied Universal at a corrections location, you will help support a controlled entry process by screening visitors, staff, and deliveries, confirming credentials, and monitoring access points. You will remain highly visible, document security-related activity, communicate clearly with site personnel, and respond to situations as they arise. Requirements

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a correctional facility location.
• Screen staff, visitors, contractors, and deliveries by conducting entry checkpoints, verifying identification and authorization, and monitoring access points to help to deter prohibited items and/or unauthorized entry.
• Operate screening equipment such as walk-through metal detectors, handheld wands, and/or X-ray systems, and conduct inspections consistent with post orders and site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership and/or appropriate authorities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and the perimeter as directed by site procedures; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
