About The Position

As a Security Officer - Badge Verification in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy food and beverage location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and log visitors and deliveries using a computer and/or tablet. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver courteous customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and drivers by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing and collecting badges, managing visitor and contractor logs, and directing individuals to approved check-in areas.
  • Screen and process inbound and outbound traffic including employee vehicles and commercial deliveries by confirming appointments, checking documentation, and communicating with site contacts for authorization.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations, and report maintenance or operational concerns through the appropriate channels.
