About The Position

As a Security Officer - Auto Lot Patrol Driver in Normal, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a dynamic automotive location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your presence and strong communication skills will contribute to a welcoming environment, where you provide exceptional customer service. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas using a company vehicle while upholding our core values of teamwork, integrity, and reliability.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or potential hazards within the auto industry environment.
  • Support access control measures by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of patrols, incidents, and any security-related activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and client staff to address concerns and provide a visible security-related presence.
  • Adapt to varying working environments and conditions as required by the location.
