About The Position

As a Security Officer - Auto Lot Patrol Driver in Normal, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a dynamic automotive location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your presence and strong communication skills will contribute to a welcoming environment, where you provide exceptional customer service. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas using a company vehicle while upholding our core values of teamwork, integrity, and reliability.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Observe and report any unusual activity or potential hazards within the auto industry environment.
Support access control measures by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as required.
Maintain detailed and accurate logs of patrols, incidents, and any security-related activities.
Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and client staff to address concerns and provide a visible security-related presence.
Adapt to varying working environments and conditions as required by the location.
