As an Armed Patrol Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will conduct routine rounds, document observations, and support staff and visitors with customer-focused service. This role requires an armed guard card/license and offers the chance to represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset.

Requirements

  • Have 1+ Years' Armed Security/Law Enforcement/Military Experience.
  • Have Security Experience ‐ 1+ Years.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be 21+ Years of Age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following site-specific, security-related procedures, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, disturbances, and fire or intrusion alarms, and request assistance from law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Monitor entrances, visitor flow, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items, following post orders and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and activity logs, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
