About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver in Butner, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to routine situations with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed post. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government corrections location by following site-specific security-related procedures, post orders, and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; monitor for unusual conditions and report findings.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, medical calls, and other critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate with on-site staff and/or law enforcement as directed.
  • Control access at designated points by checking identification, verifying authorization, screening visitors and property as required, and maintaining an orderly flow of traffic.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation; maintain proper care, accountability, and authorized use of issued equipment consistent with Allied Universal and site requirements.
