As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine foot and vehicle checks, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, support staff and riders with professional communication, and document observations clearly. Requirements

  • A minimum of 1+ years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • An Armed Guard Card and/or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government transportation location by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, platforms, bus bays, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and document entries, exits, and other security-related activity per post orders.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, medical calls, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site representatives and public agencies as directed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and weapon-related documentation, and communicate observations and recommendations to supervision and/or site contacts.
