As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing strong customer service and clear communication. You will respond to alarms and calls for service, document activity, and collaborate with site teams to support smooth operations. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, vendors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, facility policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter routes, and critical infrastructure areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards, abnormal conditions, and/or policy violations.
  • Control access points by verifying credentials, monitoring vehicle and pedestrian traffic, screening deliveries as required, and maintaining accurate visitor and/or contractor logs.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift activity logs, and patrol documentation, and follow Allied Universal and site requirements for armed post conduct, equipment accountability, and use of force reporting.
