As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate with staff, patients, and visitors, respond to alarms and calls for service, and document observations. This post requires an armed guard card and/or license and lets you bring Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every interaction.

Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Have an armed guard card/license.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and prompt notification to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by assignment.
  • Control access points by monitoring authorized entry, verifying credentials as required, and documenting unusual activity per post orders.
  • Complete detailed reports and maintain accurate logs of patrols, incidents, and security-related observations, and coordinate with Allied Universal supervision and onsite partners as needed.
