About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Rover in Portland, ME, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. Requirements

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site contacts and/or local law enforcement as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including the lobby, offices, restricted areas, parking areas, and perimeter, helping to identify unusual activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized entry, helping to support a controlled environment for employees, visitors, and/or deliveries.
• Maintain readiness for an armed post by following all applicable post orders, use-of-force guidelines, and weapon handling requirements while performing assigned duties in a professional manner.
