Requirements

  • Possess 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing details with supervisors and/or public agency contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials, permissions, and/or visitor activity in accordance with post orders and government location protocols.
  • Maintain readiness to perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines, applicable laws, and site instructions while supporting security-related response activities.
