About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Site in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine patrols throughout retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This position requires carrying a firearm and operating a vehicle as part of your duties. You will interact with the public, deliver exceptional customer service, and uphold our values of reliability, teamwork, and integrity while contributing to a secure environment.

Requirements

Have 5 or more years of security-related experience.
Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Possess an armed guard card or license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Possess a Level III armed certification for positions in Texas only.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
Monitor for suspicious behavior or potential security-related concerns, and report findings according to established protocols.
Interact with employees, visitors, and/or customers to provide assistance and promote a positive experience at the location.
Maintain awareness of surroundings while on patrol and follow all Allied Universal policies and procedures.
Carry and maintain assigned firearm responsibly and in accordance with training and company guidelines.
