As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine rounds and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements, with opportunities to support a caring, people-first team that values integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to facility staff and visitors by carrying out assigned armed post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor and control access at gates, sally ports, and/or entry points, including verifying identification, screening authorized property, and maintaining required logs and reports.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques, radio communications, and appropriate escalation to facility leadership and/or emergency services.
  • Support movement operations as assigned, including escorting authorized personnel, assisting with controlled transports within the facility, and observing for contraband and policy violations.
