Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Driver in South Miami, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced government transit location as an armed, driving patrol officer. You will conduct routine patrols on foot, by vehicle, and by bike, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to calls for service, and support riders and staff with clear communication and customer service. Bring your armed guard card and valid driver’s license, and be ready to make an impact through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience OR a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be able to ride a bike.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and government personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed, high-visibility patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter spaces, including regular and random rounds as required by the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assessing conditions, requesting police, fire, and/or medical assistance, and supporting crowd and queue management.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification and/or credentials, monitoring entry and exit activity, and screening for prohibited items as directed by post orders.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of patrol activity, incidents, and unusual conditions, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
