About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in the Greater Allentown, PA area , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As a Armed Security Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment by conducting routine patrols throughout the site/s that you're assigned to. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication to all individuals on site. This position requires Act 235 qualification, as it is an armed post. Requirements

Must be able and willing to travel up to an hour from the greater Allentown area to cover multiple sites.
Act 235 Qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania only.
Must have a PA Concealed Carry Weapons permit.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have 3+ years combined of Armed Security / Law Enforcement/Corrections / Military experience or the equivalent or a College Degree.
Must have the ability to Pass a Physical that includes: push-ups, sit-ups and a cardiovascular related stress test.
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site.
Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.
Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information.
Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate.
Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary.
