About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Buffalo, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a dynamic tech and media location. You will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, access questions, and unusual activity with calm professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver a customer-focused presence that reflects our agile, reliable, innovative, and integrity-driven culture.

Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific, security-related procedures, access control guidelines, and post orders at a tech and media location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of studios, offices, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter points, documenting observations and unusual conditions.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other building systems as assigned, report irregular activity, and complete detailed incident and shift reports.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disruptive behavior, and fire or weather alarms, and coordinate with local responders when needed.
  • Control entry and exit at designated points, verify identification and/or credentials, manage visitor processing and deliveries, and help to maintain orderly traffic flow in lobbies, loading areas, and parking areas.
