About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Lancaster, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a government rail and transit location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and help identify and report security-related incidents. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card or license. You will deliver friendly customer service, clear communication, and timely documentation while supporting a caring, people-first culture. Requirements

  • Have 1 or more years of security experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and contacting appropriate public agency partners when required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, station buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter prohibited activity and identify hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
  • Control access points as assigned by checking credentials, monitoring entrances, and directing foot and vehicle traffic in accordance with posted rules and site instructions.
  • Complete detailed patrol logs, incident reports, and shift handoff documentation, and communicate observations promptly to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
