Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol - Full Time in Elizabeth City, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations to help maintain a secure environment for all. This role is armed and requires driving, offering you the opportunity to conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and interact with staff and visitors. By delivering outstanding customer service and clear communication, you will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while upholding our core values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity.

Requirements

An Armed Guard Card or License is required.
At least 6 months of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support the overall security-related objectives of the site.
Monitor and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns according to site-specific procedures.
Interact with visitors, staff, and/or the general public in a courteous and professional manner while maintaining site integrity.
Operate and handle assigned equipment, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Complete detailed and accurate reports related to patrol activities, incidents, and/or any security-related matters as required by site protocols.
