About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Unit in Salinas, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location in Central California, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, access control needs, and emergency situations. You will document activity, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and support a people-first culture built on teamwork, integrity, and innovative, reliable service.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors and personnel at a government location by following site-specific policies, access procedures, and other security-related protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards, suspicious behavior, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating emergency response activities in accordance with post orders.
  • Monitor and operate security-related systems and equipment such as cameras, alarms, radios, and/or access control devices, and report irregular conditions through the chain of command.
  • Complete thorough documentation including daily activity logs, incident reports, and evidence handling as directed, and coordinate with onsite personnel and/or public agency partners when required.
