As an Armed Security Officer - Patrol Unit in Aurora, CO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help reduce security-related incidents, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and respond to concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive on teamwork, act with integrity, and bring an agile, reliable, and innovative mindset. An armed guard card/license is required.

Requirements

  • Have three or more years combined law enforcement and/or military and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or vendors at a government location by following post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Perform armed patrol duties on foot and/or in a vehicle, including regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and requesting law enforcement and/or medical support as needed.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification and/or authorizations, issuing visitor guidance, and helping to deter unauthorized entry and other security-related concerns.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports such as shift activity logs, patrol checks, incident reports, and evidence documentation when required, and communicate relevant information to site leadership.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
