As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document activity, and communicate professionally with staff, patients, and visitors while carrying an armed guard card/license. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Conduct armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter routes, completing regular and random patrol checks as required by the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical emergencies, and/or fire and alarm activations, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Control access at designated points, verify identification and/or authorization, assist with visitor directions, and help to deter unauthorized entry and prohibited items.
  • Document activities, incidents, and patrol findings in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate observations to Allied Universal management and location leadership.
