About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Sentinel in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal on an armed patrol post supporting a government transit location. You will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, disturbances, and customer needs with calm professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with the public and site partners, and act with integrity while working as part of a reliable, caring team. Armed guard card/license required.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation locations.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document entries and/or issues in accordance with post orders and local regulations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with local law enforcement and/or first responders as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports on patrols, incidents, and observations; communicate timely updates to Allied Universal supervision and onsite personnel.
