About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Sentinel in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and help identify and report security-related concerns. You will support access control, respond to incidents, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while providing customer service. Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have CPR and/or First Aid certification, preferred.
• Have a guard card and/or security license, preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct armed, high-visibility patrols of facilities, platforms, vehicles, and surrounding perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or suspicious conditions.
• Monitor access points and screen visitors, employees, and/or contractors in accordance with post orders, including verifying identification, controlling entry, and maintaining visitor and credential logs.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching appropriate notifications, coordinating with public agency personnel and/or law enforcement, and providing scene support until relieved.
• Complete timely, accurate reports and documentation of patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate status updates via radio, phone, and/or electronic systems as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.
