Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and strong customer service, and document observations and actions. Requirements

  • Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, policy concerns, and maintenance issues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious activity, medical emergencies, and fire or life event alarms, and coordinate with clinical staff and local responders as directed.
  • Monitor access control points, verify credentials, and manage visitor flow and/or restricted area entry in accordance with site policies and posted requirements.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity documentation, and communicate security-related observations and/or concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
