As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents, and support access control and perimeter checks. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document observations, and respond to situations with professionalism and integrity. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, housing units, parking areas, and perimeter lines to help to deter prohibited activity and identify suspicious conditions.
  • Control access at designated posts by checking credentials, processing authorized entries and/or exits, and screening for prohibited items in accordance with post orders and applicable regulations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and/or local emergency services as directed.
  • Complete required reports and logs, document observations and actions taken, and communicate status updates to supervisors and site contacts per post requirements.
