About The Position
As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government in Salem, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm and problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential threats.
- Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behaviors and provide reassurance to those at the location.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and law enforcement as needed.
- Write detailed incident and activity reports as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.
- Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies and/or incidents as they arise while on patrol.
- Carry and responsibly handle assigned firearms in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies.
