As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible, and help to discourage security-related incidents while providing standout customer service. This is an armed and driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and Level III Armed Certification. At Allied Universal, you will support a caring, people-first culture, communicate clearly, and act with integrity as part of a reliable team.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license from the state in which the job is located is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas only.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and/or store personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floor areas, entrances, receiving areas, and parking lots; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, alarms, and/or suspicious activity, and coordinate with local law enforcement and/or site management as needed.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with state licensing requirements, site instructions, and Allied Universal policies, including weapon handling, storage, and documentation.
  • Complete required reports, incident logs, and shift activity documentation, and communicate observations and follow-up needs to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
