About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Oglesby, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a tech, media, and/or telecom location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a positive experience through clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements. You will thrive in a caring, people-first culture built on integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused campus location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and suspicious activity, and request additional resources when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access by checking identification, monitoring entrances and exits, and assisting with visitor management in accordance with site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other electronic systems when assigned, and document and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns through established channels.
  • Complete detailed shift reports and incident reports, maintain logs, and communicate status updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Support special events and peak traffic periods by providing visible presence, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and assisting with crowd management as directed by site policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location and shift.
