About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Oglesby, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a tech, media, and/or telecom location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a positive experience through clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements. You will thrive in a caring, people-first culture built on integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Requirements

Have at least 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused campus location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and suspicious activity, and request additional resources when needed.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Control access by checking identification, monitoring entrances and exits, and assisting with visitor management in accordance with site procedures.
Monitor alarms, cameras, and other electronic systems when assigned, and document and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns through established channels.
Complete detailed shift reports and incident reports, maintain logs, and communicate status updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Support special events and peak traffic periods by providing visible presence, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and assisting with crowd management as directed by site policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location and shift.
