About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Federal Patrol Driver in Raleigh, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government corrections location where you will perform armed patrols of assigned areas, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors through clear communication and strong customer service. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a valid driver’s license, with opportunities to conduct routine patrols on foot and/or by vehicle while living our agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, integrity-driven approach.

Requirements

Possess an armed guard card/license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with Allied Universal post orders, applicable laws, and site requirements, including maintaining required certifications and following use of force and firearms handling guidelines.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or policy violations. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Control access at entry points by checking identification, authorizations, and/or logs, and directing persons to appropriate locations while following site rules.
Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and/or other security-related systems, and report irregularities per procedure.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, scene control, and coordination with site leadership and/or responding public agencies as directed.
Complete detailed reports of daily activity, incidents, and observations, and maintain accurate documentation in required systems.
Enforce site rules regarding restricted areas and prohibited items, and assist with screening procedures when assigned, following post orders.
Provide escort duties for authorized personnel and/or visitors through controlled areas as directed by site policy.
Participate in roll call, briefings, and required training, and communicate post information to oncoming officers for continuity of operations.
