Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in CHICAGO, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will help maintain a secure environment through visible patrols on foot, by bike, and by vehicle, responding to incidents, assisting students, staff, and visitors, and documenting security-related activity. You will use strong communication and customer service while supporting a culture that is agile, reliable, innovative, and built on teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Have an armed guard card and/or license.
Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be able to ride a bike.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Conduct armed patrols on foot and/or by vehicle throughout campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy violations.
Monitor access points and perform security-related screening and/or checks of individuals, packages, vehicles, and credentials in accordance with campus procedures.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus partners and public resources as needed.
Complete accurate reports on patrol activities, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
