Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Houston, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will drive between assigned areas and conduct routine patrols that help to discourage security-related incidents. You will stay highly visible, respond to issues with calm professionalism, and deliver clear communication and customer service to shoppers and staff. Requirements

  • An Armed Guard Card and/or license is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas only.
  • A minimum of 5 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to customers and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail sales floor, back-of-house areas, entrances, and parking areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, contacting law enforcement and/or emergency services, and assisting with scene management as directed.
  • Monitor cameras, access points, and alarm activity when assigned, completing detailed incident reports and documenting observations per Allied Universal and location guidelines.
  • Carry, maintain, and account for assigned firearms and related equipment in accordance with training, use of force guidelines, and all applicable laws and/or location requirements.
