As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in Spruce Pine, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in various industries, including Government. This role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining visibility to discourage security-related incidents, and fostering a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site leadership and/or public agency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, control entry and exit activity, and report policy violations, suspicious behavior, and/or prohibited items in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support emergency and security-related response efforts by following post orders, maintaining awareness of surroundings, and coordinating with supervisors and/or first responders during incidents.
