About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrols in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic retail location, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide peace of mind to visitors and staff. Requirements

Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a Level III armed certification for Texas roles only.
An armed guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal, providing customer service to clients and visitors at the location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, taking appropriate action as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall environment and its perimeter to observe and report any unusual activity.
Assist with emergency response activities according to site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
Help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior by maintaining a visible presence throughout the location.
Communicate clearly with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns or questions.
Complete incident reports and document observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
Remain alert to changes in the environment and adapt patrol patterns as necessary to support the security-related needs of the location.
