About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Overnight Driver Patrol in Burgaw, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will conduct routine, high-visibility patrols, respond to incidents, document security-related activity, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors. This is an armed and driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and proper armed credentials. Requirements

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
  • Have 6 months or more of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas; observe for unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access and/or contraband.
  • Control access at designated posts by checking identification, verifying authorization, monitoring entry and exit points, and directing visitors according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate with site personnel and/or public emergency services as required by post orders.
  • Document observations, patrols, and incidents in written reports and logs; preserve incident details and assist with administrative follow-up as directed.
