About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Mall Patrols in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a retail location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming environment. Your presence and professionalism will support a secure atmosphere for customers and staff, while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. Requirements

Have three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a Level III armed certification if applying in Texas.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is preferred.
An armed guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require the use of an armed response as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols in and around the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
Monitor entrances, exits, and other key areas within the retail environment to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or disruptive conduct.
Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or irregularities according to Allied Universal protocols.
Assist with emergency response activities as required by site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to staff and customers.
