About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Night Patrol in Newport News, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location as an armed patrol officer, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help identify and reduce security-related concerns. You will conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence, respond to incidents, and document observations while delivering clear communication and customer service. Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, post orders, and access requirements at an industrial location.
• Conduct regular and random armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, production areas, parking lots, and perimeter points, looking for conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property loss.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or authorization, manage visitor check-in, and document deliveries and contractor activity in accordance with site policies.
• Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, escalating maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or policy issues through the established chain of command.
