Join Allied Universal at a government corrections location as an armed patrol officer, conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will control access, respond to calls for service, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff and visitors by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, access control requirements, and emergency response activities as directed.
  • Carry and handle issued firearms and related equipment in accordance with state law, post orders, and Allied Universal policies, maintaining required qualifications and reporting concerns to supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, summoning appropriate resources, and completing required notifications.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, checking doors, gates, locks, and restricted areas in accordance with post orders.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and patrol observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and provide clear updates during shift change and to onsite leadership.
