Join Allied Universal at a cultural institution as an armed patrol officer, conducting routine foot patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and supporting staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will respond to alarms and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. Bring your armed guard card or license and a people-first mindset as you work with an agile, reliable team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Having customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Carry and handle assigned firearm and other authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws; maintain required qualifications and report any equipment concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching assistance, providing clear directions to visitors, and coordinating with law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior spaces, galleries, public areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation; communicate security-related information promptly to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
