Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Federal Patrol in Staunton, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government transportation location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle-area patrols, remain highly visible, and help to deter security-related incidents through strong presence and clear communication. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and support employees and visitors with professional customer service. Requirements
- An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government transportation location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and public agencies as directed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, right-of-way areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
- Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and direct visitors and deliveries according to post orders.
- Prepare complete and accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and observations, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or site representatives.
