About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Inmate Transport in Land O Lakes, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct highly visible vehicle and foot patrols, respond to incidents, and document security-related activity with clear, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will carry out armed duties while supporting access control and assisting staff and visitors. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Have 2 or more years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Carry and responsibly maintain authorized equipment as required for an armed post, following applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with site contacts and public law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Complete detailed reports and daily activity logs, document incidents and observations, and support access control and visitor screening procedures as assigned.
