About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Punta Gorda, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an armed, driving patrol officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and professionalism. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a caring, people-first approach while supporting a reliable, agile, and innovative operation.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calling for assistance and coordinating with on-site staff and local authorities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, check identification and/or credentials when directed, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or unusual conditions through the proper channels.
  • Complete required activity logs and incident reports, handle security-related equipment assigned to the post, and follow post orders and use-of-force guidelines while on duty.
