Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Hospital Patrol in Reading, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents and supports a welcoming environment for all. You will conduct routine patrols and provide exceptional customer service, while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first. Requirements

  • At least one year of armed security-related experience, law enforcement experience, or military experience is required.
  • Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by performing security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate judgement and training.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and protect property within a manufacturing and industrial environment.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and suspicious activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with site personnel and local law enforcement as needed during incidents or emergency situations.
  • Carry and responsibly handle an assigned firearm in accordance with Allied Universal policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
