Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Reading, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within the hospital location, helping to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming atmosphere. Requirements

At least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania only.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A valid firearms permit is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate communication and conflict resolution skills.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible presence.
Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the manufacturing and industrial location to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
Perform access control duties, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as required by site protocols.
Complete incident and daily activity reports accurately and promptly, documenting any unusual occurrences or security-related issues.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed, following established procedures for escalation and communication.
Maintain proficiency in the use of assigned security equipment, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
Participate in ongoing training and drills to remain prepared for emergency response and/or security-related incidents within the location.
