About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Government Site Driver in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This is an armed and driving post. You will interact with the public, deliver outstanding customer service, and respond to incidents as needed, all while embodying our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first in every interaction.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, and/or military service is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A 40 caliber endorsement is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas to help to deter suspicious behavior and maintain a visible presence.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary, following established guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and promptly address security-related concerns or hazards within the location.
