As an armed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. You will support access control, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and/or visitors and local partners. Requirements

  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Possess Level III Armed Certification for Texas only.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control measures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government buildings, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and other communication systems; respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and request law enforcement and/or medical support as needed.
  • Control entry points by verifying identification and authorization, screening for prohibited items per post orders, and directing the public to appropriate departments and/or services.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and activity reports; document observations and interactions and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and on-site representatives.
